Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum needed to build, ship, and stand behind your gear. We don’t sell your data. Ever.

01 — What We Collect

Order Information

When you place an order, we collect what’s required to fulfill it and to support the unit for the life of its warranty:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number.
  • Shipping and billing address.
  • Order and configuration details — product, options (e.g., input impedance configuration), and the serial number assigned to your unit.
  • Support correspondence — emails and service records tied to your serial number.

If you browse our site, standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be collected through cookies and analytics to keep the site working and understand how it’s used.

02 — Payment Information

We Never See Your Card

Payments are processed by Moneris. Your full credit card number is never transmitted to, stored on, or accessible by Dave Audio systems. We receive only a confirmation of payment and the last four digits of the card for order matching.

Moneris is PCI-DSS compliant and handles your card data under its own privacy policy.

03 — How We Use It

Purpose

  • Fulfilling and shipping your order, including customs documentation for international shipments.
  • Warranty and service records — your serial number, configuration, and purchase date are retained for the full warranty period so coverage travels with the unit.
  • Responding to support requests at help@daveaudio.com.
  • Marketing communications — only if you opt in (see below).
04 — Email Marketing

Opt-In Only

We send marketing email — product launches, build updates, artist news — only to people who have expressly opted in. Placing an order does not automatically subscribe you.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you’re out, processed within 10 business days. Transactional email (order confirmations, shipping notices, warranty correspondence) is not marketing and is sent regardless of subscription status.

05 — SMS / Text Messaging

Text Program Terms

When you place an order and provide a mobile number, you’ll receive order and delivery texts — confirmation, shipping, and tracking updates. We may also send occasional marketing texts — product launches and build updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out & help

Reply STOP at any time to cancel text messages. You’ll receive one final confirmation message, then nothing further. Note that STOP ends all texts, including delivery updates for orders in progress — you’ll still receive those notifications by email.

Phone numbers collected for SMS are used for this program only and are never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing.

06 — Storage & Retention

What We Keep, and for How Long

  • Order and serial number records — retained for the life of the warranty plus the period required by Canadian tax law.
  • Support correspondence — retained while relevant to your unit’s service history.
  • Marketing lists — retained until you unsubscribe; removal requests are honored permanently.

Data is stored on secured systems in Canada or with service providers that meet equivalent protection standards. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted.

07 — Sharing

Who Sees Your Data

We share personal information only with the service providers required to run the business: our payment processor, shipping carriers (name, address, phone for delivery), and email/SMS platforms acting on our instructions. Each is bound to use your data only to provide their service to us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We disclose data beyond the above only if required by law.

08 — Your Rights

Access, Correction, Deletion

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted (subject to records we’re legally required to keep, such as tax records). Email help@daveaudio.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.

We comply with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), Canada’s PIPEDA, and applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including the GDPR for customers in the European Union.
