Returns & Warranty Policy

Rigaud, Québec, Canada

Every Dave Audio unit is hand-built, serial numbered, and individually tested on the bench before it ships. We stand behind the work.

01 — Returns

Damaged or Defective Units Only

Because each unit is individually built, tested, numbered, and dated, all sales are final. We do not accept returns for change of mind or buyer preference.

If your unit arrives damaged or proves defective, we replace it in full — and shipping is on us, both directions, domestic or international.

Before you buy

Unsure whether a Dave Audio product is right for your instrument, rig, or signal chain? Email help@daveaudio.com before ordering. We’d rather talk you out of the wrong purchase than ship you the wrong unit.

02 — Replacement Process

How a Claim Works

  • Contact help@daveaudio.com with your serial number, a description of the issue, and photos (include packaging if the unit arrived damaged). For transit damage, report within 48 hours of delivery and keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.
  • We issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid shipping label. Shipments without an RMA cannot be processed.
  • On confirmation of the defect or damage, a replacement unit ships at no cost to you.

Modification voids eligibility — opening does not. Vacuum tubes are the only user-serviceable components, and opening the enclosure to replace them does not affect coverage. Soldering, component substitution, wiring or circuit changes, board removal, or repair attempts outside Dave Audio disqualify the unit from replacement and warranty coverage, as does damage caused during user servicing. Each unit is photographed and documented at the bench before shipping.

International shipments

Customs documentation for replacement shipments is prepared by Dave Audio and marked “warranty replacement — RMA”. Import duties or taxes levied by your country on the original purchase are set by your customs authority and are outside our control.

03 — Warranty

Coverage

5
Five-year transferable warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, from the original date of purchase. Coverage follows the serial number, not the owner — sell the unit, and the warranty travels with it.

Covered: component failure, workmanship defects, and any fault arising under normal use.

Not covered: physical damage, liquid damage, modification or repair attempts outside Dave Audio, damage caused during user servicing, incorrect power supply use, and normal cosmetic wear. Opening the enclosure for tube replacement does not void coverage.

04 — Vacuum Tubes

Tubes Are Consumables

Every tube is tested and burned in before a unit leaves the bench. Tubes are wear items by nature — like strings — and units cannot be returned or replaced for tube wear or tube failure.

Tube replacement is user-serviceable and does not void your warranty when done correctly — watch our tube replacement video for a walkthrough. If you suspect a tube issue, email help@daveaudio.com and we’ll help you diagnose it and point you to the right replacement.

05 — Statutory Rights

Your Legal Rights

Nothing in this policy limits the rights you hold under applicable consumer protection law, including the legal warranty provided under the Consumer Protection Act (Québec) and equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.

Built by hand. Tested before it ships. Replaced without argument if we got it wrong.
